Fegore Cool Spot: Limelight Marketplace

If you are a New Yorker who likes to party, you probably heard of “Avalon”, one of the hottest clubs in Chelsea back in the good old days (couple of years ago actually!).

The Avalon building once used to be church then renovated and turned into a night club. Now this place is a shopping spot call the limelight Marketplace. It’s located on 6th Ave & 20th St consisting 3 stories of specialty stores and sweet shops. There aren’t any of big name retailers in here, but more of special little stores along with some semi big names.

Fegore News: Gap to withdraw CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund

One of the largest American mass clothing retailers is struggling in this economic condition. “For the first time since 2007, Gap will have little to do with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.” This year, CFDA/Vogue scholarship will be supplied by Gap’s competitor, J. Crew.

Also, Ann Taylor will be financially supporting October fashion show in LA.

“Despite the great press and great clothes that came out of the Gap/CFDA collaborations, the world’s biggest retailer is struggling more than ever with its branding. (Patrick Robinson is trying to change that, and we hope that he succeeds.)”

Fegore Love or Hate?: Maxi dresses

They are everywhere!!!! From runways to bars, I started to find people wearing them everywhere! I guess summer is also another reason for all the maxi dresses.

The picture image shown above is the first picture that I got from searching  “maxi dress” on Google. So I tracked the original website of the picture wondering what would they have said about these 3 looks. And here is what I got…

“It is no surprise that the ever so popular Maxi Dress is yet again a success this season. Long dresses were a huge hit last summer and the trend is sticking around for summer 2009. With an array of colors and assortment of styles you can easily find one that is best suited for you. Careful style selection of a Maxi Dress can add extra height rather than take away. Pair it up with a stunning jeweled sandal and ravishing accessories and I promise you you will be a big hit. A must have dress this season!”

…… REALLY?????

I think they look awful!!! The dresses are making them look short and big…… Maxi dresses are only cool if you are super LONG and SKINNY!!!!  It’s just a really hard style to wear….. and if they are able to make celebrities look short… just imagine what it would do to “real people”. I feel like the maxi dress trend has flew by and it’s time to chop them short!

Do you like maxi dresses?
